Why We Venture

Why do we venture? I strongly believe that as human beings we do it to understand each other better, and to have a firmer grasp on the reality of planet earth in the short time we get to witness it. It’s far from paradise, but it is beautiful. There is something about sitting quietly in an unfamiliar place, as the sun rises, listening to birds you’ve never heard before squawking up a storm. Or maybe those are your Airbnb’s upstairs neighbours screaming at each other using curse words you’ve never heard before at 5 am.

I travel for food, for music, for people, to share our differing perspectives, and sometimes, to look like an fool trying to explain how many bananas I want to buy, using what I learned from 3 days of Duolingo. Don’t stay still! Keep moving, keep venturing, keep learning and keep trying new things! This is my personal challenge that I want to inspire you with, and it’s where the ValentinVentures movement began.

We are given an incredibly short piece of time to live on this planet. I will colour mine in with every piece of the world I can manage to make fit.
